Something Old, Something New; A trip Around the Grand Canyon

 With flights into Las Vegas so cheap, it makes a great launching pad for a trip around the Grand Canyon. After picking up the rental car we headed to one of our favourite destinations, the Valley of Fire. Always looking to explore new sights we drove to the Seven Sisters for a lunch stop. Then it was on to the CCC Cabins where we investigated the tiny homes built by the Civilian Conservation Corps. From there it was a short drive to Elephant Rock.

The Wave in the Valley of Fire.

 We've been going to the Valley of Fire for years now because of the incredible scenery and I'd never been to "the wave". This short, easy hike leads to a cool rock feature.

Another Easter in the Southwest

 A trip to the American Southwest during easter has become an annual tradition for my wife and I. I try to make it all about photography but she's not so interested in that. For her, it's a quick get-a-way to a warm destination. This year's trip had too much driving and Serea and Shawn were burnt out quickly and less than willing to wait for sunsets.

 Even so, I was able to spend several hours in Joshua Tree National Park and Death Valley.

The Grand Canyon and Valley of Fire 2015

 After having such a good time last year, Serea and I decided a return trip to Grand Canyon and the Valley of Fire was in order. We flew into Las Vegas and picked up a rental car before heading to Tusayan, the last town before the entrance to the South Rim. On the way, we stopped at the Hoover Dam and walked across.
