After a rocky start, Dan and I enjoyed five nights hiking around the three volcanoes in the Three Sisters Wilderness.
We hiked through the pole creek burn on our second day and then up and over a pass to camp at Moraine Lake on our third night. This was one of the few areas where random camping was not allowed.
The next day and a half had little altitude change until we crossed Opie Dilldock Pass which put our resolve (and our feet) to the test.
Our last night of camping was at the South Mattieu Lake before hiking out the short remaining trail the next day.
I'd like to go back and spend some more time , especially the southern half of the trail and in the higher elevations.
