On my 3rd day of backpacking in the Bryant Creek area I decided to tackle Wonder Pass. My legs weren't happy about it but they're not the boss of me!
From the campsite the trail winds through the forest, then slowly climbs as it follows the shore of Marvel Lake. After about 4 kms you have a decision to make; descend to the lake or head up to the pass. Since the hike is to Wonder Pass, up I went.
The 400 meters of elevation gain starts out steep, up a forested hillside. The final 100 meters or so levels off as you approach the top of the pass. At the summit you cross the Alberta/BC border into Mount Assiniboine Provincial Park. I didn't go far enough to get a view of Assiniboine as the weather looked like it was taking a turn for the worse.
